When is my payment due for the course?
Payment is due at the time of registration.

When do class registrations close?
Classes are closed for registration 7 days before the start date of class. Refunds and class transfers will not be available 14 days prior to class start.

What is your Transfer, Cancellation and Refund Policy?
If you cannot attend a class, you must contact Mid-America in advance to either transfer or cancel your registration.
All cancellation and transfer requests must be submitted in writing. Cancellations and transfer requests must be received no later than 14 business days prior to class start and are subject to a 10% processing fee. Participants who do not give 14 business days notice are not eligible for refund or transfer. No shows: Registered students who do not contact Mid-America in advance to cancel their registration and do not attend their scheduled class will not receive any refund or transfer.

What do I do if a course is cancelled?
The Mid-America OSHA Education Center reserves the right to cancel courses as necessary. If a course is cancelled, registrants will also have a choice of receiving a full refund, or being transferred to another course. Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 5 days of receiving the course cancellation notice. A refund will be issued within 30 days of request submission.
If Mid-America cancels a class, students will be offered:
- A transfer to another scheduled class of the same course;
- A transfer to another scheduled class of a different course (students will receive either a refund or pay the difference between the two class fees, if applicable; the OSHA course year is from September to September – classes must be rescheduled within the OSHA course year)
- A full refund

What kind of professional credit is available?
Mid-America OSHA offers standardized CEU’s of 1 unit per 10 contact hours. Most safety accreditation boards accept credit for “Safety Courses” provided through OSHA education centers. If you have questions about specific professional organizations credits, it is best to check with the individual organization.

Where are the course facilities located?
Your confirmation letter will indicate the location of your course. Most courses are held within major metropolitan locations throughout OSHA region V.

Do you offer online training?
Mid-America OSHA offers Virtual Instructor Led Training via Zoom for students residing or working within Region 5 and has partnered with Click-Safety, the leader in online safety training, to offer an online course library of over 300 courses. Please Click Here to review course offerings.

Who do I make check/mail payment to?
It is preferred that payments be processed online through our website, but if you must mail a check, call us at 937-521-1574 for pre-approval.

What do I need to bring with me to class?
Every student must bring a government issued ID with them the first day of class. For the OSHA 500 Trainer Course for Construction Industry and the OSHA 501 Trainer Course for General Industry you will be required to bring a laptop or tablet, it is recommended you bring a laptop or tablet plus pen and paper to all classes.

What is included in my course registration fee?
Your course registration fee covers the cost of the class and National Safety Compliance 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926 books for the OSHA Standards courses. The books provided will be the most up to date version available in stock

What if a student misses time in a class?
For a 10 or 30 hour class – The makeup time must be completed within 6 months of the start date, and is done at the trainer’s discretion. Those not completing make up training within 6 months, will not receive a 10 or 30 hour card.
For all other courses – Makeup is done at the trainer’s discretion and in accordance with current OSHA Education Training Institute rules.

How do I become an authorized outreach trainer for OSHA 10&30 courses?
OSHA requires those seeking authorization to conduct outreach training to meet both experience and training requirements. Most trainer courses require 5 years of verified safety experience and all courses require the applicable standards course. During trainer courses you will be required to pass both a written test and a practical teaching presentation. To learn more download the “requirements document“.
