This course is intended to provide a variety of training to workers with some safety responsibility. Workers must receive additional training on hazards specific to their job. Training will emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, does not include OSHA standards. OSHA 30-hour construction cards will be issued upon completion of the class. Mid America Instructor

This course is intended to provide entry level construction workers general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site. The training covers a variety of construction safety and health topics which a worker amy encounter at a construction site. OSHA recommends this training as an orientation to occupational safety and health. Workers must receive additional training on hazards specific to their job. Upon successful competion, students will receive an OSHA 10-hr card. Credit Awarded: 1 CEU

Mobile Crane Operator Certification

Mobile Crane Operator Training & Certification Exam (Written and Practical Exam)

This program is ideal for operators and other personnel who require a thorough knowledge of the safe operation of mobile cranes.

Learn the technical aspects of mobile crane operation with emphasis on safety, load, charts, setup and operating practices.

The course is instructed by Crane Institute Certified Trainer and Practical Examiner Brenda Hawkey.

OSHA 7300 – Understanding OSHA’s Permit-Required Confined Space Standard

Confined SpaceThis course covers the requirements of the OSHA Permit-Required Confined Space Standard. Course topics include safety and health hazards associated with confined space entry, and the evaluation, prevention, and abatement of these hazards. The course covers OSHA requirements; it does not feature workshops (instrumentation, control methods and testing) which are included in the OSHA #2264 Permit-Required Confined Space Entry. This course is designed for small employers or a designated representative (line supervisor or manager) with the responsibility to develop a permit-required confined space program. Upon course completion students will have a basic understanding of confined space hazards, evaluating and abatement of the hazards, and determining when a confined space shall be classified as a permit-required confined space. Minimum student contact hours: 7

Course topics include understanding the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, determining potential exposure and methods of control, developing an ECP, vaccinations, exposure incidents, training, and record keeping. The target audience is the program administrator, manager, or other personnel designated with the responsibility of developing a Bloodborne Pathogens ECP for a healthcare facility. Course highlights include students developing a template for their facility’s ECP. Upon course completion students will have the ability to take a step-by-step approach in developing an ECP for their healthcare facility while utilizing the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard as a reference. Minimum student contact hours: 7

With more than 10,000 scaffold related accidental injuries recorded each and every year, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has required that every worker be trained concerning how to safely erect and employ scaffolding equipment. This course will help employers meet the safety training requirements of OSHA’s Scaffolding regulations. The safety training guides workers on how to be aware of the perils associated with working with scaffolds and in what way these potential risks can be lowered by learning how to assemble maintain and use scaffold platforms.

OSHA #7505 Introduction to Incident (Accident) Investigation

This course covers an introduction to basic incident investigation procedures and describes analysis techniques. Course topics include reasons for conducting incident investigations, employer responsibilities related to workplace incident investigations, and a four step incident investigation procedure. The target audience is the employer, manager, employee or employee representative who is involved in conducting incident and/ or near-miss investigations. Upon course completion students will have the basic skills necessary to conduct an effective incident investigation at the workplace. Minimum student contact hours: 7.5
